Help Lock screen pattern too small

Is there any way to make the lock screen pattern larger? It's so small that it seems it would fit a phone with a 3 inch screen, not a 5 inch one. Why would they make it so small that it can't take up the entire width of the screen?

Mine just started doing this. The pattern used to be the entire lower 50% of the screen. The clock was on the upper half. Now my screen just randomly changed so that both items are squashed side by side and shrunk down to about an inch.
Very strange. Can't figure out a way to reposition or move lock screen items.

You could try using a different pattern lock. There's one that lets you choose a photo and set lock points where you want them...
