Help Lock Screen Questions

So I've password protected my new Rezound. Of course you can drag one of the icons (ie phone messaging) to get to these functions. My problem is if you use one of these icons, and then hit the back button, you don't go back to the lock screen, you end up at the home screen, completely bypassing the security on the phone. Is this a Rezound issue or Gingerbread or what?

But you have to put in the passcode to use the app after you drag it there. Or at least I just did when I dragged my gmail icon there.

I use a pattern lock and the back button doesn't work while on the pattern screen. You could always go to the pattern lock.

I figured out the problem. I had it set to lock after 15 minutes, not after each use.
