Help Lock the screen when playing mp3's

I want to play mp3 files on my HTC Desire, display the track in the player but lock the screen to prevent accidentally opening another app. I don't want screen keep dimming black and have to press the power button to see the track name.

Can this be done?

You can set the screen time out to never turn off. {Settings - display - screen turn off}…

I've tried seting the display to never timeout but the screen never locks and it can be acidentally touched and another app loaded. Can the scren be disabled or something?
