Lock/Unlock action volume control

Which volume is it that controls the volume of the Lock/Unlock sound? Right at the moment, that noise is so loud that it makes the small speaker sound awful.

Oh the volume? I'm not sure, I tried to play with both the notification and the media sound but it didn't affect the lock screen volume at all. Just turned it off in the end.

Excellent. We've established the problem. Anyone that has a solution to decrease the volume of the lock/unlock screen without affecting overall system volume, please let us know.

The only way is to change the system volume. It's the volume that controls the loudness of UI sounds (keyboard clicks, clicking buttons, locking/unlocking, navigation sounds, etc.), for those that don't know android well.
You could also replace the audio files that the system uses for these sounds with quieter versions, but other files I've tried messing with have either been encrypted or obfuscated in some way.

Thanks fallaen. I was annoyed by the sound either locking or unlocking. Turning that off = things are all good. I don't need audible confirmation that I've locked or unlocked, as I have visual confirmation of that, so "volume" isn't really an issue unless I was visually challenged.

One would think that for people that are blind, there should be a whole host of other settings to control feedback, both audible and tactile, and for those that are audibly challenged, a way to control tactile and visual feedback.
