i have an evo v virgin mobile and i bought it from a guy who didnt tell me the phone was reported broken and it wasnt now myphones's serial number is locked..isthere away to unlock it?

yes there is. you have to flash a new ESN. I believe its illegal though.

im running out of options i paid for the phone from a previous owner and he didnt tell me it was suppose to be returned and now its all locked up

vm keep telling me i have to pay full price for the phone .. and they wont unlock it and his man has 6 replacement phones they told me it is fraud. but basically they are telling me to turn the phone in then im phonesless or pay 300 more money i have to give

i found it on local craiglist the phone was working for about 6 days then it locked up on me and he is not responding at this point they told me even if i turn the phone in he sold the other replacement so the phone will still be locked.

It is a shame there are people in this world ready to take advantage of others. However, that does not mean that it is okay to do anything to try and correct the injustice. Changing IMEI/ESN numbers is illegal in many jurisdictions and will not be discussed on Android Forums.
