Whenever I have my phone (HTC Wildfire S) on charge and unlock it (as in press power button to go to lockscreen) the whites 'buttons' come on but no screen. No it is not very dull, there is not even any back light. I unplug then plug in the cord and the screen comes on. Also the touch screen is still operational as I can swipe down and then hear the weather noises (while screen is blank). This is NOT rooted and is brand new with a few apps.

Please help, I have just come from an iPhone and hated the iPhone. Android isn't to promising either? (well so far, I usually love it)

Is your phone rooted?

Edit: Sorry there I didn't read the end of your post!

Have you always had that problem or did it just start happening randomly? How do you charge your phone? USB or the plug? Do you have the android screencast application installed by any chance? If so try uninstalling it and see if it works.

BTW sometimes it does it (50% of time) and sometimes it doesn't (50% of time).
It is just annoying when it does, I will just live with it. I know android isn't perfect yet. (but still better than ios :] )

Sorry but I'm not sure how else to help.
Why don't you try calling customer care? maybe it's a faulty piece. If so, since it's new that means you still have warranty and they will replace it

I've got mine set for the screen to stay on while charging so I don't have the problem. If you find it too bright then you can use the desk clock setting (tap the clock then the moon and star icon)
