Help Lockscreen comes on & off before text arrives

My lock screen comes on for 1.5 seconds then goes off about 2 seconds prior to a text message arriving. I've tried uninstalling any apps that were installed after the issue started happening. Done reboots as well. Ideas?

Sounds like what I had complained about on the Note 2, when I first purchased, and from what I have researched, there's no way to disable it (from stock settings).

Every text message notification that comes in will take phone off standby when it comes in. I absolutely hated this, so I initially downloaded an app that can disable that function. Then, I decided to start using Go SMS again, which has the ability to disable that feature in the app.

If you do a search for my old posts on it, I'm sure you'll come across the app that I used initially. It's named something like sms popup.
