Help Lockscreen shows messages i have already read

I downloaded handcent sms on my optimus m and im using it as my primary sms app, but on when i get a text and read it on handcent.
Yet it still shows up on my lockscreen as unread messages until i check them on the stock messaging app. Is there anyway i can get rid of this? I already disable notifications on my sstock messaging app.

must be something with handcent... go to support with them...

It will always show the unread count. I tried both Handcent and GoSMS. Even if you turn off notifications it will always show.

the only way around this is to use a different lockscreen from stock, such as widgetlocker. this was a problem that always bothered me and was the reason I reluctantly went back to using the stock sms app. Hopefully they implement a way to disable these, but until then widgetlocker is your best bet.

nope. I had/have the same problem. It doesnt bother mr anymore.
