I have a couple of suggestions.
The first one is Lock Screen 7, its very basic, very simple, very few options. But it does change the lock screen. I believe the developer is in the process of adding bells & whistles.

The second one has a free version & a paid version. I wouldn't recommend it so much. It does have a few more features & honestly I prefer it. But the developer seems to be pushing too hard to MAKE you buy the paid version. I've gotten random pop up ads in my notification bar from this. He's also fixed it to where the free version makes a clicking sound every time you lock/unlock your phone. VERY annoying but the paid version doesn't do that. You also have options for personalizing with the paid version. I prefer not to have to pay for something so simple & I'm certainly not going to be forced into a paid version of a free app. But that's just my preference.

Update to this question. There is an app called MIUI Lockscreen in the Market & it is AWESOME! There are tons of different lockscreens & backgrounds to download. You don't have to use the background that downloads with the lockscreen. Just go in to your settings in the app & choose a different background from your own gallery if you want to.
Here is a link to the app in the Market & a screenshot of the one I'm currently using. I was mistaken on the name, it's MIlockscreen.

I'm not familiar with Widget Locker but I believe it gives you the option to add shortcuts to your lockscreen.
MIlockscreen gives you different ways of unlocking your screen. For example I switched from an HTC to a Motorola & I really preferred pulling the screen down to unlock it instead of swiping left to right. I like that the lock screen matches my wallpaper as well.
I think I will try this out. A vertical swipe to unlock seems a lot easier than that darn horizontal one. Plus the customization of lock screen looks cool.I'm not familiar with Widget Locker but I believe it gives you the option to add shortcuts to your lockscreen.
