Lollipop Questions

I finally updated to lollipop and I regret it. I am having two issues one somewhat major and another very miniscule but annoying none the less.

First and major concern. All too often I will drive away from my house where my phone is always connected to WiFi, and as I get out of range I'll be bombarded with notifications, incoming emails, calendar updates, and news stories, etc. My phone is not automatically updating while on WiFi. Is there a setting I'm missing now since the update?

As far as the minor issue, my calculator. I used to be able to long press the clear button and it would erase the entire input, now I have to backspace for each individual number to clear the entire screen. Once again am I missing something since the updates?

The WiFi notification issue is pretty bad on the Verizon edition. There are 4 options you can do. One, find out if your ISP provides IPv6, if so, turn it on in your wireless router. 2nd, if you have a Google voice number, use Hangouts to make/receive your phone calls. You can forward your cell number to your Google voice number. Toggle your Wifi with Airplane mode. When you want to use WiFi, turn on WiFi and Airplane mode. When you want to use LTE, turn off WiFi and turn off Airplane mode. Notifications work as long as WiFi, and wireless are not on at the same time. 3rd option, goto XDA developers, goto the Verizon LG G3 General section, find the flash G3 back to stock thread. Follow the directions in the thread. 4th option is to wait until Verizon/LG release Android 5.1.1. in 3 months at least, probably longer. I do not know about the Calculator issue. Hope this epistle helps with the WiFi problem.
