Lollipop update FINALLY on Verizon M8

Checked my phone this morning and finally got a message to update my firmware in preparation for the Lollipop update. Not sure if that is immediately after or some time after.

Lollipop update is immediately after the firmware update.

Anyone else getting the firmware update?

I've had it running a few hours. The notification bar is something to get use to but no concerning issues so far.

Mine stopped after the first download (firmware). I had to restart my phone and manually "Check new" again before it would complete.

I hope you guys are experiencing better luck with your Lollipop than what Verizon gave us Samsung S5 users.

Got the update on 3/4.. However there is a problem with playback of movies & TV Shows using Google play music. I keep getting an Error 38 playing back anything whether downloaded or streaming. I deleted cache, data, downloads, restarted, etc. to no avail. Apparently Google is aware of it but cannot replicate it and is looking for help from the community. See their support forum here.

Bummer, the rest of the upgrade is fine

I keep getting the notification about which WiFi network is available on my lock screen every time I check my phone when I am already connected to my WiFi.

Did mine this morning. I was expecting a negative experience but if anything the phone is running smoother than before the update. Getting used to the new menu and lock screen is going to be the hard part.

I received the Lollipop update on Verizon last week. Really digging it so far. Speed is better, battery is about the same. I really like the UI.

My one issue: I am having problems sending MMS through Google Messenger. The message just sits there, indicating that it is "sending" but it never does. Is anyone experiencing this issue? Is there a fix for it?

This is my biggest issue. I do not like the big banner display of notifications. I know I can turn them off but then I have to unlock the phone to see what messages (text/email) are awaiting my attention. I would really like the little icon in the notification bar like I used to have.

Other than that I it seems to run smooth, I will have to wait a few days before I can give a thumbs up or down regarding battery performance. I did discover a way to change the "recent apps" from the "card" view back to the "grid" view which was my only real other complaint.

Update. I am not a heavy user. I do not Facebook or Twitter, I generally use my device for email, texting, weather light news and ect. So generally I can pull it off the charger Monday morning and Wednesday night I plug it in with anywhere from 30 to 38% left of on the battery. Yes I get a solid 3 days on my battery.

Well it is now Wednesday afternoon and my device sits at 16%. Based on average use (for me) that is about an extra 14-22% battery drain from the new OS. Google Play services is the heaviest offender being 46% of my battery use while the screen is off and 25% all time.
