Help Long overdo hello and syncing question

circa 2006 I tried 3 different androids, they all pretty much sucked. I made the jump to the iPhone 4s, that worked for a while. when the 5s came out, I immediately got one. so upset at the complacency of the phone and technology I handed it off to my apple lover brother. To the persuasion of my dad I got the note 3. I love the thing! There are a few things I would like done differently, but love the s pen and overall size.

Anyhow, last Saturday I dropped my N3, everything went black. The screen still works but nothing shows. I ordered another N3 and it arrived today. I'd like to resync the new one the exact specs as the old one. how is this possible?

My comp OS is Mavericks.

Thank you in advance

No, is the short answer I'm afraid. However, and I will be corrected if I'm wrong there may be a solution.

Is it only the screen that's dead on your old Note 3, does it give notifications, does it ring if you call it ? If so it may be possible with an HDMI adaptor with a micro USB socket to connect it to a TV to give a picture of the screen and using the S-pen and a PC use a phone and PC app called "Helium" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup) to back up your app and data. Then restore the backup to your new phone.

Android is light years behind iOS in offering a cloud or PC based backup of your phone that can be used to make a "clone" of your device on another. Understandably, as Android has many variations as apposed to just one OS per type of device (iPod, iPad, and iPhone version of the same OS) and getting the vast majority of ordinary apps to work across the board is a pretty staggering achievement in itself.

And communication/backing up a Note 3 on a Mac is not really possible. I see this mostly as Apple's fault in blocking Finder mounting and copying.

(I have no wish whatsoever to use any "cloud" backing up system anyway.)

If you have already backed up with Kies then its no problem to restore it onto your new N3, using Kies again.

There are also youtube tutorials on how to restore data using Kies
