Help long received text was cut off--please help!

Please help! I just got the Admire today and am pretty much new to smart phones. A text I just received was cut off because it was too long. Is there something special I can do to view it, or is it lost forever? I am seriously about to cry!
open messaging then open menu then settings then un click delete old messages. if you have to many messages in a thread if this is left on it will start deleting them after 200 . hope this helps
