Help Long text messages SMS going as MMS??

Hi,

I'm on T-Mobile UK and when ever I send a slightly long SMS, the phone auto converts it to an MMS message and sends it through the internet/uses data to send it?


Why is this? It never used to happen on my Desire.

Any help is appreciated!

I'm having the same problem. So far I haven't find any clues or solution so like you would appreciate anyone's suggestions.

hi i took my phone into a mobile phone shop to ask them why it does this and they seemed to think that as soon as the message get to 1k then it converts to a multimedia message. this really annoys me as i send long messages quite often and only get 20 free multimedia messages a month but unlimited text messages!! i havnt got any solutions but would love it if someone else did!

Install Handcent, free from the Market.

Handcent > Menu > Settings > Send message settings > Auto-convert to MMS ... untick this box

Don't forget to deselect everything in the stock messaging app.
