I've also found it to be excellent outdoors in decent light.

Must say, have never really used editing software on phones, but Snapseed is excellent and it's dead simple to make the pics look even better.

Pictures look good to me! These were taken in a very dimly lit cave on HDR+... No editing.

I just about given up using the camera inside with my daughter it just cannot handle movement. I purchased an app called camera awesome to try fix the problem but it couldn't .
