Looking at ditching iPhone 4 HTC DHD

Hi all, I am looking for some advise please. I have an iPhone 4 which I like,it runs well and all that but I really like the DHD, I played with one in a Vodafone shop and seems to run really fast and overall looks really good. I would like to know if anyone here has gone from iPhone 4 to DHD? and if so how do you find it. I find with my iPhone 4 that it seems to take a long time to load internet on 3G and sometime will not load at all. Is the DHD faster?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated, Thanks all

It's a nice phone, but if you already have an equally nice phone, I wouldn't waste money unless you can do it for no extra cost.

If it was me, and I was happy with the iPhone, then I wouldn't see a need to change phones.

well, for starters the alarm works on the DHD and you can make a phone call irrespective of how you hold the phone or and doesnt depend on whether you "know how how to hold it correctly"! jokes apart, it really depends on what you are looking for in a phone/operating system. the camera is good both for still and video (need to get used to some of the settings though to get a good pic/vid), the gps is awesome but the default navigation apps arent (i have gone for sygic), music player could be better, browser is good though scope for improvement, and some other useful functionality elsewhere. there are also some good apps in the android market, ones you would want in your phone and are useful than just the pint counter! good luck with your decision though...

Totally agree

I agree too, but...

...maybe you should think about the cheaper option of owning a virtual Desire HD? It's a bit like the animal charities that let you own an exotic animal without the inconvenience of actually having it in your home. If you think this might help, just set up a standing order to pay

I got a DHD because I don't like the iphone 4 with it's antenna problem. Turns out my DHD has alot of issues as you can see in this forum.

What solutions You looking for?
Maybe I can help You.

Speedracer:
Iphone, HTC D..., Samsung S, they are only "1% phone" and
99 % GADGETS or BBT (Big Boys Toys) depends on You if You prefer 4,3 inch display, Itunes, Android...

not everyone has the same problem / issues mentioned in any forum. Mostly the issue will be battery life. Thats it. I got no issues at all that been mentioned in this forum except battery life but improved significantly after the new update. Every phone is not perfect so don expect that there will be no issues at all. Just choose what you feel comfortable with. Is your phone anyway. Cheers. =D

I upgraded from a Samsung Spica last week. My choices boiled down to an iPhone 4 (the safe option), a Nokia N8 (superb camera), a Desire Z (physical keys), or a Desire HD (big screen). I thought I could live with the poor battery and speaker performance. Now I'm not so sure that I made the right choice.

Been there done that.

Went from iPhone 4 32GB to DesireHD.. spent about a month with it and ending up putting it on eBay and getting a another IP4.

Expensive trip into Android land, but I'm glad I'm back.

Also did the same with a Desire and Hero a while back. Think I've finally decided that for my uses the iPhone does a better job. Sat nav, decent games, Unified inbox for Exchange mail and gmail, nice screen and decent battery life. Granted I can't change the battery (but then it holds enough of a charge not to need to in the first place). The current Android handsets are good, but just not quite good enough yet in my opinion.

My first DesireHD had problems with the proximity sensor, bad fitting back covers, fairly dodgy battery life, low external speaker volume. On the other hand I've yet to have a single dropped call from the iPhone without using a case and the build quality is superb.

Yes the iPhone has it's issues but I didn't see any of the DesireHD issues all over the BBC and the like. Sometimes it seems as though Apple is a easy target due to the popularity.

Thanks for the advise guys. I might hang to my iPhone 4 but also buy a DHD outright and try it out..cheers

Probably the best and safest way to go I have both, as I damaged my desire and bought an iPhone off a friend to replace it but missed the desire badly so Im back with a desire again with the insurance money! I missed the big screen and less limited with the customization as its nice putting things that you like, where you like etc,the App market has more than enough things I need and after a quick alteration if some settings I get the battery to last a day no problem, with calls messages and a few hours surfing plus some eBay updates etc, thanks to this forum :)

ps the new desire seems quicker, smoother and the display more crisp that the first one I had (which was one of the very first Desire HD's) maybe they tweaked them?
