Looking for a certain type of app? Post them here!

I'll start...

I'm looking for an app where I can just press an icon and, using my GPS, it will automatically update my Facebook status with my current location.

Anyone know if there's an app like that?

Try the app called foursquare. its pretty cool

How about a free calculator widget? Doesn't have to be scientific or anything. I tried looking through the market but I couldn't stand to look through more than 200 results. It's just too ridiculous.

There is a calculator app already in the phone. It's not a widget, but since calculators don't actually 'do' anything when you're not pressing buttons *I* don't see that to be a problem.

I would love an app that Adds widgets, even just one to the Lock screen. The main thing I would want is a widget that uses the LED lights as a flashlight. In other words, I can turn on my phone, press the widget, and bam flashlight! Anybody know of anything that would work?

Thanks!

Edit: reread and noticed that you want it on the lock screen. I know there are multiple flashlight apps in the market, but not for the lock screen.

I'm looking for an app that will let the Eris send video/audio out via the usb connector. I bought a cable (made by HTC) that supposedly permits you to do that, but you need software in order to make the device do it. I've searched the Market, Androlib, and the web, but cant find any.

Anyone know of such an app?

1) Looking for a photo album that has folders that can be edited, so I can place all pictures of different people in their own designated folder. I can do this via Astro File Manager but it's a pain in the butt.

2) Also a wallpaper collection of NCAA football teams, NFL, and MLB. A nice selection.

3) A .gif app would be cool too. One that allows you to make your own .gifs from pictures you have (like that wobble app) AND has a selection to choose from.

4) A DishNetwork DVR app like Direct TV has.

Sorry just had a few.

I want an app that:
-remembers wifi areas that I select/designate
-Enables/auto connects to wifi in these set areas
-Turns 3G OFF when WiFi is ON/connected, and vice versa

I would really like an app that allowed me to listen to live radio broadcasts of NHL games. I have tried iheartradio but it usually doesn't have any of the correct radio stations except for the Penguins...

I have been looking for this for a VERY long time too.

You may want to look at Radio Time. They didn't have my local sports station, but they may have yours.

a recipe app where i can enter the ingredients I have available and will give me recipes to cook

I found these three apps that claim to do just that:
Favorite Recipes - Android app on AppBrain
170,000+ Recipes BigOven - Android app on AppBrain
CookIt - Android app on AppBrain

The third one sounds the most promising: "Don't know what to cook for your children tonight? Just search in CookIt with the ingredients you have and follow steps to cook a fabulous recipe."

Actually, the Penguins are my local team, lol. However, I am a HUGE NHL fan and I enjoy listening to any game (especially in the playoffs haha).

I posted this in another thread, but it seems like it goes nicely here.

An app that turns off 3G (to save the battery on Eris), but allows MMS messages to be received and sent.

I know of Toggle data, which is supposed to do this, but doesn't seem to be working.

Any others?

You can still send messages with 3g off. You can also make phone calls.

I want a FM radio app that never buffers and always works. I have yet to see one and the only way to get good radio reception on your phone is to have a FM tuner built in which we don't have.

How about if all paid apps gave you a free 7 day trial?

I realize most are pretty cheap. But even at 99cents, if I'm not sure about an app and just want to try it, i probably wont buy it. Because we all know that 99 cents here and 99cents there add up....

But if we got to try it... then get prompted to pay after 7 days (maybe 3) then if we liked it we would definately pay.
