Ok, been doing my research, and I have a quick question. From what I've been reading, a goldcard is needed to use a RUU that is NOT from the same brand as your phone, but even without one (a goldcard), the RUU for your brand of phone will work. Correct? Or not?

Yes, but make one anyway incase you need to use a different RUU for any reason.
