Looking for good car maintenance app

I'm looking for a car maintenance app where you can enter service information and it will remind you when something is due. You should be able to enter service information by mileage and/or months. Also, it should have something to track fuel mileage and show you a graph. If it could export to the cloud that would be an additional bonus.

I had a excellent app on iTunes call Car Minder that did this (although it didn't allow exporting the data). All the apps I've found on Android are crap. I looked at aCar, but the user interface was horrible and you couldn't edit the services.

I believe "My Cars" is exactly what you're looking for ...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aguirre.android.mycar.activity&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hZ3VpcnJlLmFuZHJvaWQubXljYXIuYWN0aXZpdHkiXQ..

It doesn't yet save to the cloud, but it does save back-ups on an SD card if you wish. This helps for when you want to factory reset your phone, you don't lose all your info. (I successfully did a factory reset and pulled all my information back into the program after the ICS factory reset).

I've been able to track every expense I put into my new (as of May) vehicle, down to the minor accessories I've purchased!

My Cars doesn't do anything like I'm asking for. I'm asking for an app where you can enter a service (parameterized by mileage/# of months) and as you enter mileage (presumably when filling up), it checks to see if you have any services due and tells you. My Cars simply seems to record expenses for your car which is worthless. I could store that info on a sticky note.

False.

I have a reminder set up at every 5,000 miles to have my oil changed. I don't have any others because I haven't taken the time to figure out what they should be.

Also ... sticky notes get unsticky and lost! :D

Good luck in your search ... keep us posted in what you find!

OK. I found the page. The interface is very confusing. I guess I'll try if for a while and see if it suffices. The Car Minder Pro app on iTunes is MUCH MUCH easier to use and MUCH MUCH better designed. All the other apps I've found in the Android app store don't allow you to create your own services or limit the number you can create so they are worthless.

It is a bit clunky initially, and hard to find what you're looking for quickly.

But ... if there's anything I've learned in my time with Android it's that programs can evolve quickly! A lot of developers are willing to take suggestions to move their apps forward. Play with it for a while and email the developer with suggestions ... I'm sure I don't know what I'm missing! :)

This will do what you want. It reminds you of services, tracks maintenance, mileage, reminds by time or distance, add or delete services, tracks trips, everything you could want. Comes in free or pro.

I was just about to recommend this, it is the one I use and does everything you listed. I use it to track my MPG and all of my maintenance. Keeps track of all services (which you can customize which services you want to track and at what intervals) and any money you spend to help create a vehicle budget.

Extremely useful and well made app. Highly recommend it.

If I remember correctly... Tap on Add a Service Record, tap the Service button and at the bottom is a way to add a new service. Once you add it, you can cancel out of the add a service record and the new "type" you've added will be there. That is also how you can edit the built in ones, delete the ones you don't want, change intervals, etc.

aCar

One of the reviews says the free version of aCar doesn't support moving the data to a new phone? That's a deal breaker for me. If I get a new phone, I either have to pay $5.99 for pro or my data is gone?

Does My Cars allow this?

Any program that does this that you can also view the data in the cloud?

Anyone track car maintenance data by just using Evernote? I use Evernote for receipt storage, so I suppose it would be an easy way to get car data into the cloud too, just not customized for things you do with a car like these programs are.

Mind if I derail the thread slightly?

This is relevant to my interests. Can you elaborate on exactly what you're doing?
I just use Evernote to take a photo of major purchase receipts and then type in other pertinent info (maybe warranty length or other comments that might be important). Evernote uploads the data to the cloud automaticcally as well.

Good idea. I've been using Evernote for my grocery and to-do lists, for which I've found it not quite optimal, but I might try that too.
