Root Looking for...

You might want to look in the Eris forum for this. But since you're here, what is it you're wanting from Sense that you are not finding. There are a lot of different launchers out there that don't need a custom rom to run that have Sense like, or just good features (personally I use Launcher Pro +, lots of custom widgits). If it's just the nifty clock/weather widgit on the home screen with the live wallpaper, just get Beautiful widgits, it does the same thing and has several plugins. Would need more info on what you're wanting to acheve to really start to point you in the right direction, but again you'll probably have better luck finding one on the Eris forum section.

Unless one of the wonderfull moderators out there would like to extend the effort to move this thread there.

Basically, i want all of the features from sense. the keyboard, the launcher, the widgets.

Also, i thought that roms were phone dependent? as in you cant use an Eris rom on a Droid, or any other phone JUST Eris?

Am I wrong?

No you are not wrong. Each rom is phone dependant. Anyone who tells you otherwise shouldn't. There used to be a team that was working on a Sense UI rom for the A855, but I think they gave up getting everything working. I think bluetooth, wifi, and gps was still broke. One of the dev's names was Zeus I _think_. Also, I think the last version was still 2.1 android, but I could be wrong. I do know that development has pretty much stopped last I read. I _think_ I have a copy or two of it in my collection though.

good luck

I would greatly appreciate it if you would upload or link the newest copy of it to me. (:
I've been looking for this since I switched from the Eris to the Droid.

Ok, I will link what I have, but again take note of this:

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PHONE! MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST! I HAVE NEVER USED THIS FILE MYSELF!

I will give brief instructions on how this is installed as it is not a usual rom install. It is one of the 'old school' A855 nandroid backup roms. Which means you must have SPRecovery installed on your phone. What you will want to do is boot into SPRecovery, make a nandroid backup, the go to advanced restore and pick the restore that will be slightly explained below.

The file is located in my droid files link below and then in the archive subfolder. Then look for the file named: "ZEUSDROID-ALPHA-BUILD-15.0-BDS-20100422-0740.zip" What you need to do is extract the file, then put the folder that contains boot.img, system.tar, etc. on your sdcard in the nandroid folder. ALSO MAKE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A FROYO ROM, THE DATE STAMP INDICATES THAT IT IS ANDROID 2.1. But once you have follwed the directions above to make the backup and then choose the advanced restore, this is the 'backup' you want to restore.

I know I bounced around a bit, so if you are confused, make sure you ask more questions before you try it and again THIS IS NOT A FULL WORKING ROM.

good luck
