Looking to add instant google now voice button

I see the 4x1 widget, but I'd like a smaller icon to access google now voice with a single button/icon. Is there something like this?
 
There is an app on the Google Play Store that will do that. ICS Voice Search Shortcut will put a 1x1 widget on the home screen, lock screen, or app tray. It works perfectly.
 
You can just add the voice search button found in the app tray to your home screen or your lockscreen. That button will launch google now voice search. I don't think you need a widget. Looks like this but it's blue.

Its called voice search. Did you hide the icon? Here's a screenshot.

edit- I'm having issues uploading darn.
 
I seem to remember having it at one point, but now can't find it under neither the apps or widget tab.
 
What i do is use a widget "custom ics searh"
You can change the colour of the 3 parts, frame, "google" and the mic'
When changing colours of the rest, theres a lil slider under the colour chooser, slide that to the right to make em invisible. Make the mic whatevever colour suits and its tiny n cute.
Once its on your home screen, i suggest longpress, resize, then make it as small as poss' so as not to waste space for other widgets etc :)

ICS voice search works fine but I'd like to find this stock one. I'm now convinced that it's missing. It shows up under my downloaded apps but it doesn't even give me the option to uninstall or open it, and I can't find it anywhere when I look at my apps and widgets

This must be new in Jelly Bean; it's now in my app drawer, called "Voice Search". Glad they brought it back.

Can resize the stock widget? In Apex you can and you can reduce the widget down to a 1x1 microphone which launches voice.

Yes, JB. But I can't find the stock Voice Search. Here, this is shown as installed but I can't find it anywhere. Once again, I'm looking for that single 1x1 icon for my home screen.

When I go to the Play store it shows installed (image 1). However, when I click on click on it it doesn't give the usual 'uninstall' or 'open' options and I can't find it anywhere in my apps. (image 2)

That's so odd. Can you take a screen shot of your app drawer? If it's arranged in alphabetical order then it should be in between Voice recorder and Voicemail.

HOLY COW! They weren't all listed alphabetically and I swear it wasn't there, but when I chose to list them alphabetically it is now.

Thanks everyone for your patience and help. I deleted the aftermarket ICS Voice shortcut and am again just using the stock Voice Search.
 
Me too .... when I go to the Play store it shows that I have this installed

But in my App drawer it looks like the voice search icon second from the left.



Is this just a newer version or a slightly different app ?

Try what I did.

Hit Apps icon on main screen.
Go to Apps tab > menu > view type > aplphabetical list. Then I found it alphabetically and it also appeared if i arranged in a grid.

It's be a blue Icon.
