Root Looking to root droid x

Hello,

I really DISLIKE my droid x.. It acts sluggish all the time (even if i restore it)...
So I wanna try rooting it / flashing it and putting ICS on it? Is that possible?

Heres my phones info:
System version: 4.5.621.MB810
Android Version 2.3.4

I never rooted my phone before, but I am a computer geek xD

Any advice?

One thing you could try is to SBF .621. Not sure why, but sometimes it helps. There are instructions in the stickies in the All Things Root subforum.

it is now possable for you to root but it is not something that is very easy. you have to sbf the milestone .604 using linux(if you use rdslite it will flash over your radio and cause all kinds of problems.) then root via a milestone exploit. just sounds like a pain to me. i wouldnt advise it ;) but its up to you
 
ICS is not the way from blur sluggishness (is that a word? Must be 'cause spell check let it go) yet but if your looking to play go for it. Also expect your battery life to decrease considerably. I've been running CM9 for a few days and today required a lot of use leaving me with a drained battery mid morning. I can always get it on the charger so it's not an issue for me, just a minor inconvenience.

It's well documented at this point how to roll back to 604 from 621 and if you are all the geek you say you are it should be a piece of cake. Let us know how you make out!

yes it is easy for someone that has done sbf's b4 but i wouldnt advise it jic if your a noob, as for your batt life i was having the same problem, i also run cm9. just charge your phone clear batt stats and throw it back on the charger again. worked great for me ive been up for 10h 40m on batt and am at 64% charged right now
