Help Looking to root my phone but not having any luck

So i have been trying to root my phone for a while to no avail. I read somewhere on this site that if you updated to gingerbread you cant root the phone. is this true? is there anyway to un-update it?

Hi tylon9 & Welcome to Android Forums. It appears from a quick look around that this is correct - if you updated to gingerbread the root process does not work. Feel free to check around in the All Things Root section though to make sure this is absolutely true.
