Loose screen display

Yeah, I feel the same way but after waiting for the device, only to find out that I have to ship it back to the Goog and wait for another might make me tempted to break out the tools. Maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones.

Or not one of the unlucky few...

Mine has the same symptoms. Loose left hand side. Well to be fair it just clicks. Frankly its a minor detail and doesn't detract from the use. It was never going to be an iPad. If you press it down it sticks for a little while then pops up again. So I'm living with it if I decide to keep it at all.

Jelly Bean is awesome.

I heard rumors that Google said they'll ship you a new one before you have to ship your old one back (I really don't want to wait a couple weeks to get a replacement). This is a rumor and I tried to contact them to confirm, but they are having "an unusually high volume" from their device customer support. I could live with the screen issue if I have to the thing is I don't want to (and I imagine other people feel the same way). My issue is very minor but it bugs me knowing it is there (if I never read about the issue I'd probably just think it was standard and continue on my way). With all that said for those people thinking of waiting, I say screw that! GET THE TABLET! Despite the defects it is still beyond amazing tablets especially for $200!

I agree. Its awesome. I'm just going to forget about it and enjoy it. I have an iPad that I baby. This is going to be my working tablet.

And given the fact that this seems to be quite widespread the chances of a replacement being the same is quite high. Or have some pixel issues. And anyway, it has a warranty if it gets worse.

...are there any photos of this phenomena?

Would be pretty near impossible to display. It's a feel thing. And when you press the screen you get a lot of back light bleed. So tightening screws etc would make this worse. Wondering if it's a design flaw. The internals just a bit proud. Hmmmmm.

This guy pushed his back down and said it worked.

This guy wasn't so lucky.

And me :(

My plan is to log the fault with Asus/Google but tell them I do not want it to be replaced unless they have physically checked and confirmed that the fault does not exist in the replacement. If that means opening the box before winging it my way so be it.

It's an avoidable fault that should have been picked up in QC but clearly hasn't. Anyway, I can live with it until the initial frenzy is over and get a replacement in a few weeks if necessary.

I would post a photo but you wouldn't see anything.

I have to literally have to put the n7 millimeters from my eyes to see it.

Knowing it's there is pissing me off, but seeing as it ain't mine, I'm not AS pissed off lol. But I would change it if it was mine though!

I wouldn't think they'll bother doing a check for you. Even Apple didn't with dodgy iPad 3s. You can't churn out a device like the N7 at this price and have high quality controls to check post manufacturing. This has to be a design issue or an assembly design issue.

It's a shame but not wholly unexpected. For

Did the screw check thingy and mine were pretty tight. The device is thicker at the left hand side so I think the chances of most devices being slightly, and I mean slightly screen proud at the left in portrait are high.
