I have had my HTC Desire for about 3 weeks now, but since new it keeps losing the data connection. I'm on Orange network.
Basically what is happening is all data connection is lost. My Desire just shows the signal bars, but no G, 3G or 3G+. When I try to connect to the internet I get the message "Unable to connect, you need a network connection". If I go into Settings and turn off and back on again Wireless Networks then Data connection is restored. Sometimes it can be several hours before data connection is lost or it can be 5 or 10 minutes.
I have been on to Orange numerous times and so far with no resolution.
I have done the following tests as instructed by Orange:
1. Select Network to GMS only for 24 hrs. I had 2G connection and I didnt loose connection all day
2. Select WCDMA only for 24 hours. I got 3G connection and I didn't loose connection all day
3. Perform a Factory Data Reset
Still the problem exists when the network selection is on GSM/WCDMA Auto. If data connection is lost it never comes back.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem?
Has anyone else experienced the same with the Desire on Orange?
Thanks
Mark
