Help Losing Data connection while on a phone call???

Maybe i didn't notice this until recently, but I could of sworn my phone wouldnt lose data connection when on a phone call before I rooted it. Since I rooted the phone 2 weeks ago, i've noticed my data shuts off while on a call. Is this normal, or is there a setting I need to change? Anyone?
 
It doesn't matter if ur rooted or not, this happens to all cdma phones (verizon and sprint). The type of network does not allow for use of both at the same time
