The US needs another large GSM Carrier to compete with AT&T. It's a shame they basically have a monopoly over the Technology, and therefore GSM phones, here.

Still, you shouldn't need more than 4 or 5 carriers, you should count yourselces lucky, Europe has 100s of carriers, and until the EU Commision stepped in roaming inside the EU would burn a hole in your pocket
We only REALLY have four (soon to be three). The small ones don't hardly count. If you are really comparing coverage, we really only have two huge competitors (ATT and Verizon).
Sprint has more coverage than AT&T.
Edit: talking about 3G ofcourse.

this...this is why ill always be with htc...I've never seen this type of fan base loyalty from any company before...try getting this type of support from motorola or samsung.
Of course, they wouldn't have essentially rioted over anything the Tree of Jobs decreed.I'm pleased too, but if you haven't seen this kind of loyalty from a fan base to a company before, head over to Apple land for a little while.Of course, they wouldn't have essentially rioted over anything the Tree of Jobs decreed.
While there are still questions, this is undoubtedly a step in the right direction. While I was throwing a fit too, I had overwhelming doubt that they'd reverse their stance. I guess is just goes to show that it is possible to win one every once in a while.
I'm pretty sure Sprint has AT&T beat on voice too. Especially with that roaming agreement with Verizon.

Roaming agreement for DATA roaming??? Because being a GSM carrier, AT&T can't go all red and roam on the CDMA voice of VZW... Unless there is something going on that I'm not privy to, that is. I've been wrong before though, mind you (and if you don't believe me, ask my wife).![]()
I think the intent was to say Sprint's roaming agreement with Verizon in regards to voice. I think that is what is currently true, anyway.

I got it totally backwards. I thought alcohol was talking AT&T had roaming with VZW. Guess I shoulda went to bed rather than hoping for one glimmer of info that would point to a quickly upcoming release. Oh well, here 's to another day of hoping for hope!
They actually do not. ATT has Verizon beat pretty heftily as well.I'm pretty sure Sprint has AT&T beat on voice too. Especially with that roaming agreement with Verizon.
Another day goes by with no information, I seriously doubt it will be released next week
If you've lost interest and want the Nexus S alternative, or know someone who can get a new account at Sprint, this weekend will be the time to do it - $50 new customer, $100 upgrade at Amazon - cheap!
I don't see why the $100 upgrade account wouldn't work.Earlymon - saw that.....But you have to change your plan...it looks like...
Not just add the $10 Premium Data but a whole new plan....
**NOT CONFIRMED....JUST MY SPECULATION**
