Help Losing internet (3g and 4g) altogether

Last night I was at a party with my friends and there is no 4g in this area so it was purely 3g. We were all sitting in a circle, posting on each others Facebook walls. Everyone around me on their iphones, Droid x, and blackberries were loading and posting fine, but I was sitting there on a perpetual loading circle. In the Facebook app, in the browser; even the market was returning a "no internet access try again" error. It was a bad way to show off the phone...

...right now I'm on wifi in the phandroid app and I hit submit...and it said I have no internet connection. But its showing 3 bars of wifi. Ughhhh

On a Razr and out here in Northern Indiana as well. This is getting VERY old, Verizon! Complete BS for what we pay for this!!!

Yes, many have. You'll be told your in the minority but your not. There are a few threads where this issue is debated. Some say its a 4g "interpretation" error, and ignore the loss of 3g, others understand it to be a radio error, hopefully corrected by the release of android 4.0.3.

Stick around, just dont point out too many flaws or the mobs with pitchforks will burn you for blasphemy.

Except that the current network issue has nothing to do with the Nexus radio.

Does Verizon's hole lte network all go thru one pipe, seems odd that the hole nationwide network break's all at the same time.

Yep, here we go again. Someone above said their Droid X is fine on 3G? Are we looking at another LTE SIM registration problem a la the outage 2 weeks ago? Good thing I'm paying a premium for reliable wireless. Oh, wait...

I got onto the forum this morning to write this exact post. Although I'm GLAD to see it's not just me, it's annoying to look at my phone and see those ugly gray bars. I tried everything and was about to do a factory reset!

Is this the same thing that happened last time? Are ALL other 4G phones affected (Razr, rezound, charge, etc)?? Hopefully VZ gets this fixed quickly, I didn't know how lost I would feel without data... lol

Same here in CT. I guess I can stop switching on and off airplane mode to try and fix the problem since happily it's not the phone and it's actually the network.

To add to this story. After finally getting it to post I rebooted my phone and got in my car to go to work. The signal bars showed nothing for a good 20 miles of my trek.... then it started showing full service, but the bars were grey ans there was no 3g symbol (keep in mind my lte is turned off because there is no 4g in my area). I kept trying to access the internet and market but I kept getting a non-connection error. I tried to make a call to voicemail and it connected just fine. After a good 40 miles (hour of driving) the 3g symbol finally appeared, the bars turned blue and I could connect. It feels slow.

same thing here in houston, but I JUST got 3G to pop up as of about 6:30am CST FWIW

*note* I didn't do anything to make it turn on (I was playing angry birds on my bus ride to work and bang..there it was)

*EDIT* lol and after I pressed send here at work, 3G went bye-bye so I had 3G for 10 minutes

At least it's nice to have the forum to know it's not just me! Down in Charlotte NC as well. I wonder if this will be a recurring issue as more 4G phones are released? Fortunately I'm already in the habit of using wifi when I'm at home or work to increase battery life. This just means no streaming Slacker on the drive to work this morning...

3G back up for me...

EDIT: Ugh, should have left well enough alone.. clicked LTE back on and lost it again.. FML

I'm not new to smart phones but I'm new to 4G, I'm curious as to why my neighbor on her Verizon 4S has 3G service but I can't get any on my Gnex. You'd think I would just roll back to 3G.

Well I've been down since at least 6:00 AM EST when I woke up. I'm in the Metro Detroit area. My fiance's Droid X has a 3G signal. I just noticed my phone dial *22853 (doesn't show up in the call log) or something like that out of the blue when I was browsing the Android Market (using WiFi). I let the phone sit for a few minutes after turning off WiFi and no data connection came back. I rebooted and still don't have anything.

Has anyone else noticed their phone making a call like this?

Now turning on CDMA only mode has yielded a 3G connection. Going back to LTE / CDMA kills it.

Coming to work, I noticed that I had no 3G(no LTE area). I was ready to return the Nexus I just bought. Glad to hear that it's a nationwide outage. Get your #$% together Verizon.
