Lost my D1

so sad, i lost my droid 1 about 3 weeks ago. just misplaced it most likely.

the first week i went without a phone.
week 2 i thought about buying an upgrade, but nothing appeases me
week 3 i hooked up my old blackberry pearl
currently cringing and glaring at this POS every second possible.

i am sad. i miss Android sooooooooooo much. everything about it. apps. ease of use. battery life. dropbox. fast web surfing. true web surfing. android forums mobile view. games. the market. changing ROMs.

my buddy has a 9650 "Bold"

its everything but bold. its stale even with their new OS update!!!


what to do, what to do. insurance for a refurb is $90 for a new guy. debating it cause i'm waiting for a FFacing cam for VZW.

suggestions? :confused:

He said he has insurance...so a used D1 would cost more than the $90 refurb D1 through Insurion.

I would pay the $90 and get the D1. This is what that will achieve:

1) Get you back to Android now! :D
2) You'll make money on the deal. $90 D1 could be sold for about $150 in a few months when a phone you like is released.
3) You will save your upgrade for a phone you really like...and not use it out of necessity.

I didn't lose my D1 but I was bored with it. I picked up a Fascinate off of Ebay to "scratch my itch". I'm loving it so far...but I'm not tied to it if/when they release a "must have" phone in 2011.
 
Use Pearl, wait till CES. Rumor is, incredible HD will be announced on like Jan 6th by HTC. Use upgrade, be happy!

I suppose this does belong in the android lounge vs. THE lounge. There is a fine line because most general diacussions on this site end up being anroid related. I usually forget about this lounge...

Anyway, did you figure out what you are going to do?

I say.. go get your $90..replacement.
I agree with UBRocked.... you can resell this later.. for more than $90 and not miss out on android goodness.

Memory sometimes doesn't accurately record things. I forget what this phenomenon is called. It's like when you're nostalgic for something but then when you experience that thing it's not as good as you remembered it. He may be incorrectly recalling his Droid's battery life already.

My Droid's not bad but it does not have the runtime of my former Blackberry. I don't miss the BB though.
 
the battery life doesnt do much justification for how little it does. it makes calls, does sms, mms, email... and sucks at EVERYTHING else. Maps, Pandora, "games", App world (marketplace), browsing, media playing...

just an outdated POS!

think i'm going to do the $90 insurance route... on droidlife/phandroid i see so many things that i want to add/look forward to... i feel so yesterday not knowing what the new market is like. or even gingerbread.

still on the fence though... my friend has that HTC windows phone, but i would only want that for about a week or so worth of playing. anybody wanna sell me a DInc for a penny? yeah, cool!!
 
oh anybody remember memory leaks? battery pulls because your phone could delete all your messages?!?

yeah already happened... ugh
