Help lost my Google contacts

[tfportland]

When I bought my HTC Aria the store set it up and synced it w my gmail account. all seemed fine for a few days, but now I have lost all of my contacts in Gmail. All of the users are still in my phone, but with phone numbers only (i.e. no email addresses, postal addresses etc that had been in gmail). Does anyone know if I can retrieve these?

Also, what's the easiest way to clean up the duplicate contacts in my phone? (i'd like to have ALL my contacts as google contacts, none as phone-only).

Thanks
