Lost my GPS flashing icon

Today I lost my GPS flashing icon at the top of the screen and my GPS will not connect. I checked my settings and both the wireless and the GPS are clicked on. Any ideas?

This icon should not always be in the bar. It only shows up there when the phone is actually using GPS (applications like Google Maps and Navigation). Just try starting Google Maps and see what happens. make sure that Settings->Location and security->Use GPS satellites option is ON.

Yes, I am only looking for it when trying to use maps/navigation and everything is on in the settings. It can not even find my location in maps.

yeah happened to me as well, seems somehow the gps actually turned off. Couldn't even see any info in the testing menu etc. Reboot 'fixed' it. By 'fixed' I mean gps icon is back and flashing and the gps is eating battery without actually locking onto satellites...
