Help Lost my Launcher (3.2 update)

Web Raven

Lurker
After my Xoom updated to 3.2 this morning, I cleared my default launcher (Xeam Launcher) in hopes to return to the standard Xoom launcher. When I hit the Home button, I get a blank screen and it does nothing. It doesn't even give me the little menu icon in the lower left so I can get back into settings (though I've managed to do that from the lower right side of the screen). Still, I cannot get any launcher up and running on my Xoom now. I've rebooted several times and still nothing.

Any ideas on how to fix other than resetting to factory? Help!

I don't believe this is a problem specific to the Xoom (I'm seeing it on the Eee Pad Transformer). My testing seems to indicate this is a bug in Android 3.2 that prevents the home application selection dialog from displaying in landscape mode. This would only occur if you have applications installed that have the android.intent.category.HOME category set on their main activity's intent filter. Since the dialog is hidden, it just looks like a black screen.

I've found that rotating the device into portrait orientation will cause the dialog to appear. Selecting an app will bring things back to normal. However, unless you make an app the default home application, you will run into this problem every time you hit the home button in landscape orientation.

Hope this is helpful.
