Root Lost root access?

I'm not sure how or why, But somehow, I managed to lose my root access. It ran perfect 2 days ago. Now my root checker says I'm not rooted anymore. My superuser denies all apps. So let me get started here....
I've bin rooted for 3 months now. I got the perfect ROM for me (don't remember where or name.) I haven't updated my phone in anyway, shape, or form. I downloaded this app that needs root and gives free apps all in an easy to use market environment(don't want to get in some type of trouble if i name the app or some BS.) But anyway i got this app now 3 days later my phone isn't giving root access anymore. The only thing that gets allowed for some odd reason is my titanium backup. It is weird cause i haven't ran it in ages. but now i want to to know the following:
Steps need to follow in link form or an easy to understand 1,2,3 format
If i can keep current running ROM
possible reason this could have happened to such a basic root user like myself.

ANY LEGITIMATE ANSWER IS APPRECIATED.

Sincerely,
Root user in denial.

Can you go to about phone and give us the rom and kernel.

I would try to update superuser and see if that fixes it. Or I might reflash rom and/or kernel
