Root Lost Root, Won't Root Again

Hi, All,
I have been rooted using SuperSU-v1.30 with S-on and I lost my root. It's happened before but I've always been able to reapply it. Now, for some reason it won't take. I've tried 1.41 and 1.51. The TWRP installation shows successful but it's not rooted.
I also had a corrupt SD card and had to reformat. Would that have an impact?

I've also tried one of the "one-click" methods but it does nothing.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Version 3.16.651.3

it is not just that easy to lose root. you may have gotten denied by the superuser app which is an easy fix.

are you s-off? what rom are you on?

edit: almost forgot to say......welcome to AF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in that same problem. I had a bad ROM Flash, my SD card was corrupt and I had to format, and I went back to stock RUU because nothing else would flash. Anyway, I'm in 3.16.651.3 Stock sprint, my bootloader is locked, but I'm S-Off. HBoot is 2.09 I've tried to flash recovery, but I get error: [HIGH]sending 'recovery' (7220 KB)
OKAY [ 1.100s] writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 1.134s[/HIGH]How can I get root again and flash TWRP again? I really do not want to do the HTC DEV unlock... is that the only way? Doesn't being S-Off help? Thanks in advance..

Welcome to AF!!!!!!!
You need to unlock the device first.........there is no way around it......so......get unlocked and then get twrp installed and you should be fine.

Edit why did you use a ruu? Did you still have a recovery. If so then you should have been fine.

Thank you for your response.
I have an update:
When I booted to recovery, I had the standard HTC recovery (with just the icon of the phone and an exclamation mark !)
I downloaded the zip file for the latest TWRP, placed it in my SDCard root and performed the update. (I had tried adb, fastboot, goo manager and nothing worked. this did)
Once I had TWRP, I downgraded my TP drivers to 3.15 and was able to use TWRP.
I downloaded the latest stable Cyanogenmod (10.1.3) and flashed it thru TWRP.

I am now using CM, with root enabled.
Funny thing is, when I boot to HBoot, (I guess that is what is called. pressing the power and Volume Down), my boot loader still shows (**Locked**)

I imagine I was able to do all this because I'm S-Off. Isn't it right?

Anyway. That is what I wanted. To use CM 10.1 again.

Thanks again.

yeah not sure how you got locked with s-off.....that is an unusual situation and i'm not sure how this will affect you going forward....but like i said earlier as long as you have a recovery then you are fine.
