Lost Security

while watching a full screen video last night the video crapped out on me playing only audio (it was some santa video for my kid so I figured it had to do with their site... had to send the kid over to the old tower). After closing the web browser I returned to my home screen and noticed my live wallpaper was no longer working(?) (had the nexus livewallpaper). I decided to hit the power button, not sure why... (not a complete shut down just clicked the power button to put in sleep).
When I returned to my lock screen, the facial recognition no longer came up leaving the my phone open. I was able to simply swipe to gain access. I hit the power button once more. waited a good minute (auto lock is set to 5 seconds after sleep). hit the power on and still no facial recognition. Used the swipe to gain access. Went into settings and noticed I had no security enabled... WTF?!?

I haven't been able to reproduce this again.
Anyone else have this problem? I also has to re-setup my live wallpaper.

(I get the facial recognition is not exactly secure, I was just trying it out. But, I would expect anything dealing with security to one's phone to be a show stopper if it were buggy -- For what's it worth, I also have the facial recognition to use a pin if it can't recognize)
