Hi all,

I'm starting to feel a bit dumb, and heres why.
I can flash at least F1 Gingerbread-mod, and it works fine everytime (been doin' that a lot lately). While it seems to be stable, fast and all of that, I'd prefer a Sense one, or maybe a MIUI - something candier, that is.

So, I have tried to flash Crystal Kingdom and Insertcoin rom's (both A2SD+ and CM7) but with no success. I have made the A2SD partitions to my memory card, with Puppy Linux and through recovery, as well as with ROM Manager. I used Unrevoked method, I am currently S-off with AlphaRev, and generally have been tryin' to do as instructed in FAQs.

Problem is that after installing CK or Insertcoin, it stays on splash screen forever (well, at least well over 30mins.) I have made clean installs, wiped EVERYTHING and been tryin' to be a good boy. There seems to be (atleast) one thing that I keep doing wrong, I just can't understand what it is. It installs the rom as it should, but that's it - when I reboot after installation, it just hangs on the splash screen, formerly HTC, now it has been replaced with the pretty ironical "Why so serious?"-AlphaRev one. (Jokes starting to wear out rapidly...)

If you just could help me out. Every damn time it's the same thing, what can it be? Somehow I keep doubting that it would have to do with A2SD/+ Somehow I am not entirely comfortable with that.
 
The CM7 ones need the alpharev CM7 hboot and wont work without. How big is your a2sd ext partition?

Can you recheck it in linux to check all is ok? dont use rom manager. For anything. You werent flashing with rom manager were you?
 
Oh, wait - as I typed that previous post, I decided to give it a one more go - and at least it has now gotten up to Insertcoin-Android-animation-screen.
and as my live coverage of phone boot-up progresses, I can confirm that it seems to work now. Yes, it's good.

Thank you all for VERY SWIFT help! I couldn't have guessed how good you guys are!!! :O This is almost SCARY!

On a more serious note, I really have no idea what just happened. I have tried something like half a dozen times, and I did not do anything different this time. Exactly the same package, as I tried yesterday. (Just received an e-mail that someone has replied to this post - thank you anyway ;) and in my mind, I think that I did everything as before.

Well, this made me a happy lil' camper, thats for sure!

Yeah, I knew that I shouldn't use ROM Manager, but it was kind of last resort - no help. I just noticed that I installed it from my old 1Gb SD, what sort of partitions you would recommend for InsertCoin_GB_Sense2.1_A2SD+_1.0.8?

And what is easiest way of doing it? I have aforementioned Puppy Linux CD, but I'd prefer doin' it without it.
 
At least 1GB really as they ship part of the rom to sd ext too. No more than 2GB though
