Root Lots of problems! Need help from expert users!

Here's what I'm looking at. I have an AMOLED screened DINC which the display screen got busted inside while I was in Chicago. The digitizer looks like new, but the display inside was shattered.

I ordered a new OEM LCD w/ LED backlight replacement display screen:
OEM HTC Droid Incredible lcd screen display repair part - eBay (item 320609722647 end time Dec-27-10 01:37:02 PST)
It is the same part number (60H00291-00P) as the original, and made by Samsung (or so it says).

I very carefully replaced the screen with the new one, and NOTHING! The phone powers up, and even gives notification that I have new messages, but no display.

I had remembered seeing somewhere that I though rooting was different for AMOLEDs than SLCDs. I rooted my phone with unRevoked and flashed the MIUI rom (0.11.19.0) with the 2.6.32.15-cyanogen shade@toxygene #1 kernel ( http://forums.miui-dev.com/showthre...lish-Chinese-Stock-Deodexed-UPDATED-12-5-2010 ) which I now believe is the cause for my problem due to my searching and finding that there is only about a handful -if that- of kernels that support the SLCD.

So I'm in a bad place. I need to go back to a previous nandroid backup (like when I had the stock sense 2.2 only rooted), but I can't because I cant see the screen info to do such.

Is there a way to hook it up to my computer to reflash one of my old backups, or anything I could even do to revert back to stock? :confused: I really need this phone and need to get it back to working soon. I would go buy another one, but its Christmas, my contract isnt up, have a baby on the way, and we all know how that goes.

Any help is greatly appreciated more than you know. If you need anymore info that I can provide please let me know and I will try my best to help out. Btw, Ive done a lot of searching on this too, but came up dry on what I need to do.

Sounds like you need to do a blind hboot unroot. Download the 2.2 PB31IMG.zip and flash in hboot even though you can't see anything. Put the file on the root of your sd card and boot into hboot, wait about a minute and press volume up, wait about 5 minutes and press volume up, then wait about 10 minutes and press volume up again and your phone will reboot and all should be good.

I placed the PB31IMG.zip on my sdcard, installed it in the phone, rebooted in hboot (holding down on volume and power button), waited about 1.5 minutes, then pressed volume up, then waited almost 6 minutes and pressed volume up again, the phone vibrated after about 5 seconds, then about 20-30 seconds later said "Droid", I waited another 10 minutes after the last volume up press, then pressed volume up again. The phone didn't do anything after that. I waited about 5 minutes or so, then done a battery pull and restarted it.

It vibrated, then after a little said 'droid' again, but still nothing shows up on the display.

Could it be a difference in the power source of the two displays? It seems like it would still show something, not just a blank screen because it appears by the 'droid' sound that im back to stock with it.

I was really hoping this would cure the problem, but now I'm beginning to think that it's something bigger.

It had fallen down into a recliner without my knowing, then when we got it out of the recliner, the inside display was cracked in about three places on the left side and just showed a bunch of weird colors. The digitizer doesnt have a scratch on it though.

Do you think something else could be messed up with it?

HTC did it:D:D...

But yea thats what I would think is the problem. The phones hardware is configured for an AMOLED. The LCD screen probably confused it.

or Im just talkin out my ass..:p
 
my phone wont get stuck on d g1 logo...being try to upgrade from firmware 1.6.
rooted my phone and am now on firmware 1.0 and build RA-dream_v1.7.0...pls any body can assist me?
 
I was trying to load the cyanogen mod to my G1

Had Android 1.6 and Radio 2.22.23.02

I downgraded to RC29 successfully
Rooted my phone
Loaded recovery-RA-dream-v1.7.0.img. Flashed successfully

Then started following instructions below:

wiki . cyanogenmod / index.php / DangerSPL_and_CM_5_for_Dream

I got stuck in step 6

i flashed the radio before flashing the spl

now my G1 just get stuck at the G1 logo

can get into the system recovery and dats all.
pls help me
