Help Loudspeaker on answering call

My girlfriend's Desire S always turns on the loudspeaker every time she picks up the phone to answer a call... Anyone else with the same problem, and any idea on how to fix it? Thanks for any help.

Have a look at Menu > Settings > Sound > Flip for speaker - it should be deselected to turn the speaker off.

If that is the cause, and as the speaker should only come on when flipped, your girlfriend may want to (re-)calibrate the G-sensor, Menu > Settings > G-Sensor calibration - Calibrate.

There's also a speaker icon on the Caller display, whenever you make or receive a call. It's underneath the Caller picture, on the right. (The one on the left is the mute button). Your girlfriend might be touching that in a call.

Nope, that's not the problem - it's already switched off in settings. When you press 'Answer' the call connects, and then the loudspeaker button just presses itself - if you watch the screen you can see it toggle on. It's really weird - anyone else seen this or know a fix?

Some more possible solutions...

Is your girlfriend using an app that modifies the call functions at all? If so, there could be a conflict between that app and the stock functions of the phone.

The speaker phone might be coming on because the phone is in 'car mode' or thinks it is. (In car mode, the phone defaults to the speaker phone when in a call.) Try a 'soft reset' to clear this: Power off the phone > Remove battery for 30 seconds > Replace battery and power on.

There may be a problem with the phone's USB socket. Check it's clean and clear of dust, etc, and that the pin isn't twisted or bent. A dirty or faulty USB can cause the phone to be in 'car mode' when it shouldn't.

All apps > Dock mode > Menu > Settings > Auto-launch - deselect.

Other than that, there's alway the 'factory reset' option, which will wipe all personal data on the phone.

when this happens to me i take the battery out and then reboot and seems to work.
i dont know why this happens though

soft reset worked for me also - after a weeks of tearing my hair out going through all the settings for phone, sound, calls, etc.

no idea how/why it happenned - very frustrating, but thankfully resolved now

I try already everything. But I can't fix this problem.

My problem isn't only by answering to call but it makes also, when I make call. Everytime my speaker turn on itself.

I'm to booring of it, help me!, please
