I'm very happy with my thunderbolt even with the glitches,yes...it was very frustrating with the rebooting, but now it seems to be fixed after the update,I like the look and the operating system of the HTC,I originally had the Droid 1,and bought my wife the Incredible 1,I lived hers so much,I got the thunderbolt,I love everthing about it,in do time they will straighten out all the glitches, and then they will be pushing out ginerbread
,as the cherry on top,the camera is fantastic, great picture, the screen itself is Sharp,it as plenty of memory,it feels solid, nice big screen..I love the animated weather,I can go on and on........yes the battery isn't the greatest,..I bought the extended battery 1700mhp,its still fits in the stock back cover, its a little better than the stock battery,I plan to get the 3700 battery, just to have,.in case I go on trips and stuff....get this phone trust me,..be patient everything will fall into place and this phone will be super awesome,...instead of just plain awesome

How dare you not come here to complain! What do you expect us to actually like our phones or something?

Fwiw, i never thought I'd agree with a long run on sentence but yours has so much truth in it i gotta throw a thanks your way. As a dedication, my next post on here, whatever reply to whatever thread, will be a long run on sentence. Period less i say!

I love my TB too! The latest update completely restored my faith in the awesomeness of this phone. No more random reboots! Yay!

Now that my GPS works like it should, I'm perfectly happy with the phone. Yes, there are always things that could be better. That's the case with anything, but I'm sufficiently satisfied with the phone.

The fact that it turns out that the components that comprise the phone are actually worth more than what I paid for it is like icing on the cake too.

The phone still retails for like $600 which is what HTC charges Verizon for each thunderbolt. HTC is making a hefty profit. Every cell phone company knows they will recoup that money in the long run thru contracts so really, it isn't fascinating that the phone has $200 plus of components in it.

I am sure Verizon doesn't pay full retail for this phone. After all when you buy in bulk you tend to get a discount. Plus the phone is useless as it can only be used on one network.

I am sure if you look at anything made the cost of the materials are far cheaper than what the end product is. I guess you forgot to add some labor in for manufacturing and the r&d or the advertising of the phone.. so profit margin per phone isn't what you think it is.

Yes, Verizon does pay the full retail per phone. Pretty much common knowledge. I am well aware of what goes into making a phone or any product for that matter. Businesses are out to make a profit. People posting like HTC is hooking them up really isn't the case at all. Just look at HTC's financials over the past 2 years. They are doing quite well for themselves.

I dont know what Verizon actualy pays but they doesn't care about the cost of the phone. You pay roughly $2400 in service charge over the two year contract plus $200 for the phone. And thats just the bare bones user.
I also know what Verizon list as "full retail price" is hardly MSRP. For example the same black berry curve off contract price between T-mobile, AT&T, sprint and verizon are all vastly different. The carriers make those up themselves based on how much they choose to subsidize.

I agree. I had the reboot issue and it was annoying because It drained my battery and happened when I was trying to navigate. I'm so glad that's fixed!

Other than that I didn't have any major complaints. I love the big screen! I got an Android to keep in touch with family and friends around the country via YouTube, pictures, Twitter, video calling. Still waiting for some features but I'm patient.

The keyboard is way better than my Blackberry because it is spaced nicely. I like Sense UI, and the apps and widgets that personalize this phone.

I also like that most everything syncs without a computer! Getting my contact on here was the quickest ever.

I spent an hour at our local verizon store last night. It was totally dead but they had 9 people working. I started a conversation with a guy who works there about the Tbolt. The other employees joined in and over the course of an hour we discussed rooting, roms, downloading paid apps for free, etc. I noticed that most of them had the Droid Charge. I asked each person why they didn't get the thunderbolt. It appears that the techs at verizon are very open about which phones are the biggest PITA. Currently it's the Tbolt. They said the product was rushed to meet a deadline, that the hardware QC was terrible, and that the return rate was crazy high. I'm in a situation that my headset jack no longer works and was considering going to the Charge. I basically told them that if my headset jack wasn't broken the phone is awesome.

One guy responded with a challenge to me. He took me to a computer in the store and asked me to compare how many Tbolts are for sale compared to the Charge on Craigslist. He said if it was any less than 10 bolts to 1 Charge he would buy me an accessory for my bolt.

He was right. There were tons of tbolts for sale and only 2 Charges.

Needless to say I have a Charge being delivered on Wednesday instead of another Tbolt.

I'm not posting to say the Charge is better than the tbolt. What really matters to me is resale value. I planned on selling the tbolt for $200ish in about 9 months form now to help pay for my next phone. I did this with my HTC incredible to help pay for the tbolt. I'm very concerned that I wont be able to sell quickly or for at least $200 based on the number of tbolts for sale.

I'm pulling anchor and moving to the Charge forum. If anyone of considering the same move I'm making feel free to PM me with questions.

My only real problem has been battery life. It doesn't really affect since I have chargers everywhere, but if I'm out a lot it is annoying. And I wish it had Netflix.

I have loved my TBolt since I got it (and I've had it since launch). Mine had no problems until the first update, at which time it started having random reboots. That was annoying as hell, particularly when it happened during a call. It also seemed to happen more often in certain areas (when I was in Miami it was crazy but had fewer in the Philly area). Ever since the new update, all of that has disappeared and I couldn't be more pleased. Battery life is, of course, an issue which I addressed with the extended battery. Originally I was concerned about the extra bulk but it is well worth it. I thought I'd be switching from extended to standard and vice versa depending on weather I was traveling or just in the office but I have just kept the extended battery on it. Well worth it. :)

I don't have Netflix on the phone either but I can work around the issue by using the Slingbox connected to my TiVo at home. The TiVo has Netflix so I can watch anything from it on the phone, including Netflix.

Love my TBolt. Had one reboot in May. One since the second update. Battery life sucked, got an extended battery. No more issues. Hated the keypad, got SwiftKey. All fine now. Gps has improved since second update, and not really that big a deal for me. Even better, it's not an iPhone.

I know what you mean, I used to have a bb storm I love it just for that specially at work when I'm always active. that's sad that no app can do what the blackberry player can do with the volumes buttons D:
