Help Love the phone but I got issues

I have had the optimus v for about 3 weeks now, it took me about a week to get hotspot working, been playing on xbox live with 3 bars for a week on and off, and browsing the internet is cool and fast, as long as there are no data drops, which seem to happen every 3-4 hours, forcing me to go into airplane mode, then back, or take the battery out, then replace, just to get 3g to work again.

Anywhoo, I recently rooted the phone with fastboot, cmd, and adb commands, I used the Xiona kernal or w/e, and then I downloaded a free cpu overclocker, I put it up to 806mhz, and a minimum of 122mhz, I could hardly notice a difference in lag, or speed increase while playing angry birds or just the normal interface, so I get on xbox live with the hotspot active, I play for 2-3 hours, then my phone turns off, and keeps restarting, apparently with the hotspot active and 3g data on, the battery will actually run completely out, even with the charger plugged in, thats crazy, just proof maybe this phone wasnt optimised for 3g? Anyways, another problem I have is when I press the camera button on the side, it will restart my phone, Ive looked all over google for a solution to this other then getting a replacement phone, and no one ever replies wit a solution. Anyone have any guesses?

Hotspot heats up a phone quite a lot, as does overclocking. Heat is bad (obviously) so your phone is committing suicide. Ok not really, but it could be due to heat.

Also I know my Incredible (before they patched it) had a charging issue. Mostly it was running GPS, but when running GPS the phone would die even when being charged. What was happening is that GPS was draining the phone faster than the phone was being charged at. If you have your phone overclocked and running hotspot (battery killer, big time) this is probably what is happening.

You Root the phone install a Rom that is basically a unstable beta that has issues, you overclock an entry level android phone, and on top of that you use the phones antenna to provide data to a gaming console, and you are wondering why the pone shuts off and the 3G drops, and you have terrible battery life, and things on the device do not work, you just answered your own question, that is why you are not getting any answers, and as a word of advice if you do return the phone make sure you return it to stock,as you have already voided the warranty,

You could try under-clocking it a bit, maybe try in the 700 range? Hell if you say you're not noticing a difference in gaming you might as well just return it to stock speed. It definitely is most likely a heat issue, many devices automatically shut off or reboot when they're running too hot to stop from killing it, but prolonged periods of running temperatures near that can still shorten the life of your device.

Lower your overclock, it clearly isn't stable. Try it at low 700s and see if it fixes the problems. If it does try moving the speed up one notch at a time till it becomes unstable and leave it at the best stable speed. Just like overclocking a computer.
