Help low audio volume

I listen to music in my car through the aux line in. The volume on my evo is considerably lower than my ipod and it is making the music sound terrible. And im talking about the mp3's from the sd card not pandora (pandora is a whole seperate issue obviously) Is it just me?? Is there some sort of fix or app for this besides rooting? Im running 2.2. Thanks!?

Are you sure you have all the media volumes all the way up? Download Audio Manager, it will help with that.

Also, I'm not sure how low audio volume is making it sound terrible. Usually HIGH audio volume makes it sound terrible, as it distorts the music.
