low memory issue

My Samsung 551 is showing low memory error. I have removed some apps but it doesn't seem to change things. I can hear my messages coming in but am unable to open them as it says memory full

Welcome to the forum. There's pretty much only two ways of fixing this problem...in my opinion.

1). Reset the device to factory default settings and "only" install apps that you need.
2). Get a larger SD card (ebay or amazon have them for a reasonable price).

I agree, and a reboot of the phone will help also, it is a mini computer, so something is taking up your memory.
