Help Low Memory

Newbie
I keep getting low memory messages and having text messages rejected. I have uninstalled an app every couple of days for like two weeks now and it just keeps coming back. I have also deleted all of the text message threads. I can't figure out what is eating up all my memory all of the sudden.

are you rooted? IF rooted, do you install a custom rom? even if you are not rooted, verizon wont do anything for you unless its in warranty or you have insurance. if its not rooted take it to verizon. if it fails and you are out of options legally, try taking matters in your own hands and root it to fix the issues like flashing a custom rom. it could be your system memory. but check your internal phone storage (apps data) settings >Sd card and phone storage...at the bottom

i am trying to help...also the IRC ally forums are great too! they are legends.

so I uninstalled a 1.5 MB app and the next time i pulled out my phone I had the error again. I don't use FB and my browser is set to cache to SD card. I wasn't even using it when it happened the last time. I am not rooted, but have been intending to root for a couple of weeks now. I did power cycle the phone and it's been without the error for an hour now, but I have power cycled the phone a number of times since this started. I don't think it is a physical memory issue with the phone as it's not acting like it. I may have to reset the phone to factory to see what happens, but that's such a pain to reinstall everything. If anybody else has anything I can try that would be great.

Not cache, but data, go to the apps list and hit clear data, some apps store a ton of data. If you have wanted to root i would suggest just doing that. It can nearly double the apps space and you can manually clear your caches and other stuff to remove what you want without a factory reset. Now you can use GingerBreak.apk to root but id advise going through the root guide even though it will wipe your phone.

Also go to your email and delete you sent and trash folders.
Oh, and any picture kept in a text message counts towards you memory as well.

You dont need to delete and emails, by default it only syncs inbox and sent for a few days, anything else is loaded on demand and gone when you navigate away from it. If you have alot of emails, got to gmail settings and change the sync options. No sense in deleting it!

True, BUT...
That only works with gmail.

I get two emails to my gmail account a week.
My corporate and home email address... now thats a horse of a different color.

Not everyone uses gmail as their primary account.

Never really thought of that, im all gmail and had my school stuff forwarded there. But i would find it hard to believe that another email app wich you could be using for other email would have the same kind of options and would force you to have everything saved to the phone.
