Help Low Phone Volume ??

I tried the LG Optimus S for a few days. I normally use speaker-phone with the phone, but while out, I had to use it in the "normal" phone mode. With the volume all the way up, it was still very difficult to hear without activating the speaker-phone.

Has anyone else noticed this, or was this a possibly defective phone? I like my EVO 4G, but it is pretty big...and overall the Optimus would have been my choice had the normal phone audio been adequate.

Yeah. The speaker is low on this phone. My only complaint about it though.

We've had our S's since Sat., and we have no problem hearing in the "normal" mode. I recently had ear surgery(left ear, 1st post-op visit this afternoon) and I've had no problems with the "relatively good" ear(I'm 61) and I really don't need to set the volume all the way up.

Yes, I noticed that this phone is not as loud as my old Hero. But it is a much better phone overall.
