Help Low resolution picture when opening from album, zoom in it's sharp

From the photo album, when I view my pictures in full-screen they look smudged, fuzzy, un-sharp. Then I zoom in a little bit and they sharpen right up. When I zoom all the way out again it smudges up again.

I have tried deleting all the thumbnails from my SD and rebooting, but the problem persist.

Yep - Evos behave this same way especially the picture file size is rather large.

In addition to sharpening on zoom, you might find the color palette improves considerably.

This is a known problem with many Android gallery viewers, not just HTC, so far as I recall.
 
No it stays blurry forever. But the instant I zoom, even the least amount, it sharpens. Every zoom level is sharp, but when I go back to 100% view it's blurry again.
 
These are from your camera or downloads?

PS - Your phone might be busy with some background processes - especially if you're using an automatic task killer of some sort (typically, not your best bet).

SystemPanel Lite, free in the Market, can help zero in on cpu-intensive processes you might have impeding your photo gallery finishing its auto-updating.
 
It's the pictures I have taken myself.

I don't have any automated task-killers, but I do have System Panel. There's a lot of active apps running in the background, but not one with any CPU usage that can be detected by System Panel. System Panel itself is the only one where the grey bar is visibly moving up and down.

It doesn't seem like something is holding it back processing the pictures, as they are always sharp if I zoom away from the 100% view. When I zoom back to full-view it's blurry again.
 
OK - you've checked the obvious things I know about...

I've checked around, this seems to be widespread, not just for the Desire, per HTC and XDA sites - here's an HTC forum sample -

Sorry, we'll have to wait for someone knowledgeable who's had and fixed this problem.

The XDA ideas are interesting - but I wouldn't know of an alternative image viewer to recommend to try for you.

Sounds annoying!!!
