Lower media volume?

First of all, I've had the Desire for about 3 weeks now and it's a brilliant phone. However, quite often I listen to music from my Desire through my headphones to help me get to sleep. Unfortunately though, the lowest media volume setting is too loud through my headphones. It's seems to be either a choice of no music (i.e media volume turned to zero) or the next level up (which is too loud).

Is there anyway to get a volume in between the two? I've tried apps such as AudioManager but to no avail

I'm having the same issue. Had mine for a couple of days now (I'm an iPhone convert and love it!), got most things set up how I want except the media volume....
It seems that when turning the volume down it goes in large steps (from a value of 7 straight to 0), is there any way of getting a finer adjustment at low levels (maybe an app that'lll do it?)

As a hardware solution there are some fairly cheap headphones with an in line volume control which would solve the problem
