Root LS740 ROMS

There are two devs here working on CM11 ports. I believe they're porting from the LG Optimus L90, but I'm no developer so don't quote me on that. The L90 and the Volt are very similar and the L90 already has a bunch of working roms, so I'd assume it'd help our phone a lot. There's some CM11 discussion going on in either of the CWM threads.

To anyone else reading this thread, I'd also like to point out that the L90 has a working (beta) version of CM12 over on XDA. Hopefully this leads leads to good things for us. Exciting stuff, guys.

Hi,
I want to sell my LG Optimus F6 and buy an LG Volt. Do you recommend so? I don't want to spend more than $90
I wanted to know what are the custom Roms which work perfectly for LG Volt (without problems like camera, LED, ...) and please give me a link the the custom rom website or topic.
Thank you

actually no custom roms are fully working as of yet, we are trying to straighten out a few kinks in cm11. and we have a guy working on cm12. but we are at a stand still with that too.

I'm a Software Dev...if I had more time, I'd love to work on getting AOSP LP working. Honestly I don't believe LG when it comes to their release schedule. I have owned 2 LG android phones in the past (Marquee and Ally) and LG 'promised' upgrades for both and they never came.

I've got some experience with linux and c/c++ and java but most of what I do nowadays is in C#. However I believe if I can put aside some time, a port would be possible if I can setup my environment. I have gone to college for this, so I understand decompilation, assembly, kernels, etc...just haven't actually worked with the linux kernel aside from customizing and building a few using the make config process.

i've been looking at this so-called lollipop upgrade hosted by another site for the lg volt. whoever wrote the article claims it's from xda, but it looks very hinky and bogus to me as there is no screenname to be seen anywhere for one. they want you to d/l the ROM in 3 separate sections and zip them back together or some nonsense. the posted screenshot says SkyDragon GPE 5.0, but to my knowledge--those ROMs are exclusively for HTC hardware. i know we're not supposed to post weblinks here, but does anyone know anything about this?

It's a scam, and the download links are just surveys. Don't trust that website. I saw it yesterday.
search this in google and you'll realize: site:*****
instead of **** put the name of website. and you can see the same text and links for lots of phones. just the name of cellphone has changed. and as you can see none of the links top of webpage don't work.
Don't trust it.

I've seen that site too...that site has the same setup for other phones, sometimes the name of the site changes but it always includes lollipop and rom in the address and uses a .org, and the page for each phone makes outrageous claims like xxx% speed increase, etc, etc. From what I've read the scam isn't so much of a virus scam as it is a pay-per-click scam.
