LTE Switch in Market

So I read on BGR that there is now a LTE switch in the android market. I don't live in a 4G area, so will turning off my LTE radio save battery? I may be wrong, but I thought the 4G radio was already off when in a 3G only market.

I do not know how the phone handels it when you are in an explicit no LTE zone, but when there is the weakest of LTE, the phone seems to like switching to it and then back. I would download phone info from the market and use it. It has a way to stop the phone from looking for and connecting to LTE, along with other info that is usually gotten from arcane dialer insertions.

I just saw this and installed it. I set it, put phone down.. and about a minute later looked over to see white HTC screen. So... not sure that it was suppossed to do that, but something to keep an eye on for sure.

Phone has been more and more flakey lately.. Not sure why but have to reboot it daily anymore as txt's are not sending out or sometimes coming in at all. Trying to ride it out expecting new phone to have some quirks but this is starting to get old.

I don't have 4G in my area and lte on/off helped a lot on the battery life.
