Root M130 Rooted!

How would I unroot it using this process? Sorry if this has already been said. :P

I'm new to this all, to unroot it, would I just, like, hit the default button on the phone?

Might seem like a dumb question, but I currently have a rooted M080 phone. Now that there is a root for the M130, would it make sense to un-root, do the update to M130 and re-root?
Is there anything to gain by making the upgrade to M130? Features, etc??

Thanks

Ditto - although I'm running M050.

Not sure I understand your answer. I guess it really was a dumb question?
I should just leave well enough alone?

Also asked the morons at Verizon if they knew of the new Casio coming out, and of course they were clueless. I heard the FCC is testing it now!

I have the same question as you ... looking for others to answer it

For those asking if it is worth it to upgrade from m50 or m80.

It is only worth it if you froze your stock apps instead of uninstalling them. The update won't work if you uninstalled the apps even if install all of them back.

The only way to upgrade if you uninstalled apps at one point is to call Verizon to get them to send you a replacement phone for it failing to upgrade. Rooting is against their rules and if they find out it was rooted they will charge you full price for it.

I had mine rooted back with M50 and it would not update to M80 since I uninstalled some apps and reinstalled them but wouldn't update. So I called them and they sent a replacement with no problem with them, they never found out I had root once I unrooted it.

SO I made a copy of init.qcom.sdio.sh and saved it to my card. I preformed all the steps and rooted my phone. Sweet stuff. I reset the permissions and replaced the untouched version of init.qcom.sdio.sh. From there my Wi-Fi is having an error. logcat tells me that it is my init.qcom.sdio.sh that is gumming up the works. DOes any one have a solution for this? I might have screwed the original and will have to find a new one. Lame.

Also what should the original owners be set as before chown?

Thanks. Havent a clue how to do anything with computers code-wise but managed to do this will little difficulty. For anyone getting stuck at putting the SU in the system/bin/ make sure your wifi is disabled. Goodbye VZW

so i have done the equivalent of uninstalling the windows operating system on a computer. On my commando, the entire /system folder is wiped, thanks to GNM recovery. So from this point, i can power on my phone to see a casio virtual serial port and a usb composite device. is there a way to transfer the /system folder back to it using that? no adb, by the way, thats in the /system folder. Is there some sort of "download mode" or way to get into the recovery, without the hard reset as that does not work? or am i going to have to go to the big bad v on this one?
any input is appreicated, thanks in advance

Awesome! Thanks to everyone, I am rooted, and Now I Can Clean up my phone!! My previous phones have all went the way of the water gods, meaning they all have somehow taken a dunk in the pond so to speak and died a hideous death. This phone stands up to me and now can be clean and shiny (on the inside)! Again thanks!

I'm told that I shouldn't root it unless I can unroot it for insurance reasons so I really would like some manner of reply. I'm very new to this so... lol even if it's obvious I'm probably not noticing it.

I would bet that verizon, or the insurer, would void your warranty if they knew you rooted it.
You can ask them to clarify warranty coverage.

So......you are asking for assurance that you will be able to commit fraud if you screw up your phone?

I have rooted both my android devices with the knowledge that my warranty is now void.
Its a choice I made.

If any insurance coverage you might have covers mechanical damage I would simple drive over it with the car. The last thing I would want to do is hand them a rooted phone becasue the odds are against them covering that IF they figure it out.

Check the permissions of the file. Should be rwxrwxrwx.

I think you should start a new thread with this one. If you dont need the phone right away we might be able to do some investigating to try to revive your now bricked casio commando.

This might sound extremely dumb, but i can't get past line two in ten steps. Where is that in the file explorer? How do I access it? I have checked every where i could see and couldn't find it. It says local sd card. This is all new to me. What am i doing wrong????

Seriously, guy. Why the hostility? Get the stick out of your ass and take care to notice that I was just stating my grasp of the reason they were telling me I shouldn't root it unless I can unroot it. Which I explained simply in the hopes that someone would take a moment to reply to the question with, at the very least, a "you can't." Now chill out.

Bricking your device and then getting insurance on it is fraud and that's why rooting has such a bad rap with insurance companies.

However, I see absolutely nothing wrong with using your warranty to replace defective hardware that was not caused by the device being rooted.

I've done that myself

lol I never even stated a concern about bricking it, I'm not too worried about that. I was talking about using it to replace defective or physically broken hardware through the warranty. You folks are making some pretty crazy assumptions. :P

PRETTY sure you couldn't unroot a bricked device anyway, so that would be a moot question, wouldn't it?

and even so, I don't see a reason to get so... seemingly angry about it. not like you'd be sued for it.

well i just bought one off ebay, cause warrenty being void and crap, the motherboard of the commando is in front of me and looks preety cool, but no way to take out the internal storage and screw with it...oh well. Everything else works, so if any of you guys want parts send me an email to willsterdudeyo@gmail.com and we'll deal :)
I can give anything exept the motherboard and stuffs on it.

If you lose your phone, and you have insurance on it, they'll replace it. So if you brick your phone, just lose it and pay the insurance for the replacement.

So I have been having trouble with my wifi since I rooted my commando. The log is telling me that it is trying to access a file sys/class/usb_composite/acm_modem/enable. I looked for it in my file manager and the folder acm_modem didn't exist. If anything I am going have to reinstall the whole frickin image. Or does any one have a better idea? I thinking of rebuilding the folder and missing files but I can't mkdir any where in the /sys directory. So where to go from here?
