Root m860 root, and cm7 troubleshooting

if any 1 has issues rooting or flashing cm7 to their ascend like i initially did i hope they find this and post any questions they my have please leave any questions in a post, and if i do not replly in a timely fashion i can be reached at celtixfan34@gmail.com emails are sometimes delayed so please allow time to procsess.

I didn't have time to search through the forums but how do you get rid of the droid sound when the ascend boots up in cm7, doing this for a friend and sometimes they have to turn their phone on in school.

I don't know thers no options in rom toolbox unsure if its even possible sorry I couldn't be more helpful

Use a file manager go to /system/media/audio/ui and delete android_audio.mp3

jus for reference this thread is more aimed towards those having issues wih the rooting and flashing process. as I myself am still kinda getting familliar with cm7 and all of its extensive options and features

or rename it, that way if you ever need it, it will still be there.

Hello I'm rooting my cousins ascend I had it rooted on 2.1 firmware, I upgraded it but root isn't on there anymore. Mind you I used z4root. How can I root permanently? And where can I download the cm7 rom for the ascend? And how? I have experience only on the optimus v so shouldn't be that hard to guide me.

me again, i had the same problem. root it using gingerbreak, you can get this from 4shared dot com

Yeah I just realized z4 only works on stock 2.1 not 2.2 any info for instally cm7 for ascend?

not really, im on a mac and the info i find is for using windows. i just emailed celtic fan to see if he can give me a walk thru, ill let you know if i find any new infoplease do the same thanks.

I used 1.3 then read success stories of 1.2 but neither worked.

your right i used 1.2 as well cuz 1.3 didnt work for me. try searching youtube videos as well thats how i figured it out, is your sd card mounted? i think i ran into some problems cuz mine wasnt mounted

Is it really necessary to post the same thing in multiple threads? Also, a little more info would help. But I have no clue why it says samsung...

Try SuperOneClick. I had the same problem after upgrading my Ascend---neither z4root nor gingerbreak would work (I tried many different versions). Also see this thread:
